Discover Mission – A relationship with the city and world around us.
God is among the poor and marginalized of society. Jesus says, “whatever you do to the least of these, you do it unto me.” God also calls each of us to a specific vocation in the world and sets us at tasks which demand our best efforts. During the week, our daily lives are lived outward in the city with a commitment to work towards cultural renewal. We have a bias towards action and invite you to join God in making all things new. Will you join us in inviting everyone to the Table?

Join us at Open Harvest Pantry – the second Saturday of every month
Open Harvest Pantry is a shared mission among faith communities in the Lewisville-Flower Mound area, serving the poor, lost and needy in Southern Denton County. We are a Christian based organization and we serve following the teachings that Jesus gave us.
Our purpose at OHP is to bring comfort to those in crisis. Though we do not directly have all the resources and programs available to meet every need one might have while in crisis, we know there is help and hope out there. Our core mission is to provide emergency food services for those in immediate need. Once those needs are met, we can help those who come to us with information to access longer-term assistance and programs available locally. We offer encouragement and love for those going through a trial, and we will walk along side you in your time of need.
Our only request is that the strong lift up the weak and those with resources give through us to those without. Everything we do and everything we offer is a gift from God, and we thank Him and worship Him through the member communities of faith who operate our pantry.
What We Do
OHP is a food pantry supported by the Tarrant County Food Bank and is open and available to those who are in crisis of not having enough food to feed themselves and their families. It represents the basic food categories and will not supply all of a family’s food needs but it may supplement those needs up to 50%. We work closely and cooperatively with Lewisville Christian Community Action (CCA) to avoid duplicating what they offer – therefore we are available to those that do not qualify or have to wait for CCA benefits.
Opportunities to Serve
We welcome participation in our ministry from any who have a heart to serve these lovely people who so need a hand. Our pantry hours are every Saturday, 8:00am – 11:00am. We also have opportunities during the week for those who might like to help with stocking and transporting food from our suppliers. Call (972) 839-7395 with any questions.
Social Service Advocacy
We are here for those who have needs and do not know where to go. What we do not offer ourselves, we may know where to go or have people who know how to find it. We will walk along side you in your crisis and try to help navigate a very difficult and complex system of services to make sure you receive that for which you qualify as soon as possible.
Join us at Breaking Bread – the fourth Saturday of every month
Breaking Bread is one of the primary outreach ministries of Church of the Resurrection. Founded a number of years ago, Breaking Bread has served those in need in the Denton area with both spiritual and nutritional nourishment.
Joined by our friends at Elevation Church, and many other volunteers, we gather at Singing Oaks Church in Denton every 4th Saturday of the month to put on a banquet of Jesus’ love and affection for “the least of these”. Set-up typically begins at 10:30 am followed by serving a generously portioned dinner and encouraging conversation and prayer for our guests who desire it. We usually wrap up by 2:00 pm and head home with hearts full of the blessings received from our fellowship with our guests and our Lord.
There are many ways to participate, from pre-banquet set-up, assisting on the serving line, welcoming people as they arrive or just offering to listen and pray with our guests as they often love for you to intercede and pray with them.
Please join us for one of the most rewarding things you will do in His name.
