“Catechesis” Resources

Here are some additional resources on catechesis, following up from this Sunday's sermon.

I showed you the hard copy, but you can find the ACNA catechism in pdf here. It's FREE.

I am fond of Fr. Kurt Hein's efforts to make the ACNA catechism accessible to children and families with his To Be a Little Christian. He sets key questions from the catechism to a a common meter with fun imagery for kids for ease in memorization. In that common meter each of the 52 stanzas could be sung to the tunes of "Amazing Grace" or "Gilligan's Island" (remember that show?!).

The Catechesis Institute run by Dr. Alex Fogleman is an excellent resource itself, with good publications, videos, webinars and such on various aspects of catechesis historically and today. Dr. Fogleman spoke to our catechesis course last year and I would love to have him back again soon. He's a thoughtful and inspiring advocate, who leads the ACNA's Committee for Catechesis.
